Here we are, living in 2018, while twenty-ten still seems futuristic to me. If you had told me a year ago that I was going to leave my job to start an online business, I would have laughed in your face. “ME?!” I would exclaim, “Impossible! I don’t know the first thing about online businesses.”
Now here we are, a year later, and I no longer have a place of work. Or a boss.
Abraham Lincoln said, “the best way to predict the future is to create it.” And I was tired of being uncertain and unfulfilled. Working my tail off for somebody else’s dreams to come true.
That’s when I found the world of online marketing and I started creating my future. There was a time when I let fear stop me from taking the actions that I really wanted to take to create the future that I really wanted to live. So guess what? I never lived the life I wanted to live.
Until I stumbled across a video that introduced me to digital entrepreneurship. This video was of a young man, in his 30’s just like me, talking about how he left the 9-5 corporate rate race, and how with the right mentors, he went from making ~$100k in software sales working 70 hours a week, to pulling in well over $250k while working half the amount of time, from anywhere in the world.
Sounds too good to be true, eh?
Well, it’s not. I now know this man personally, as he is my personal mentor, and he is helping me do the very same thing. He was sharing his story about viewing things as being “too good to be true” and how that had kept him from seeing outside of the box, and when he decided to change that view, his life transformed.
Some of the best advice he’s ever given me was about the future. He told me to pull out a crystal ball, and imagine the future that I wanted. Then he said to really believe…to the point of certainty…that future was going to happen. “What action would you take?” he then asked.
His point being that until we actually believe in ourselves, we wont take the necessary actions to create the future we want to live, and by being certain that the future in the crystal ball is going to happen, this creates a belief in self to then take those required actions.
Quite tricky, innit?
Another golden piece of advice he offered is that as long as you don’t quit, NO MATTER WHAT, success is guaranteed. By refusing to quit, you will eventually succeed. Which is great, cause it’s kinda like Yoda and his “Try not. Do or do not. There is no try.” Same principle, really.
So the point of this discussion is to give you an insight and a shortcut/trick to creating your future; to getting that dream life you’ve always wanted. It’s within every bodies reach, what stops most of us is that we just don’t believe we can actually have it.
So, start believing. Start taking those steps toward that dream life you’ve always wanted. If you want an idea on where to start, sign up to receive the same 7 day video series that got me going in the right direction.
